"Because Of Charlie" is a short film set in the time of the depression. "Because Of Charlie" follows the story of Charlie Morgan, played by Caitlin, and her siblings Emily (Emma Duke) and Will (David Chardack). They lose their father in a tragic boating accident and their mother, Meg (Colleen Koontz), is forced to put them in Mandrake Hall while she goes to work for the reclusive Thaddeus Davis. When the children arrive at Mandrake Hall Bertha Beasley (Bonnie Pence) and her son Oliver (Ried Mackey) make their lives miserable, starting by seperating Charlie from her beloved dog, Grumio (Kirby). When the children are settled into their dorms they meet Fingers (Kelsey Edwards), a loveable quirky girl who leads the kids at Mandrake. They also meet a crippled boy, Porter (Caleb Jenson), and Jack (Taylor Moulton) whose grandfather turns out to be non other than the reclusive Thaddeus Davis.
As the story unfolds, Bertha begins to be more and more cruel to Will and the children decide to escape from Mandrake. This is where the real story begins!
"Because Of Charlie" was written by Caitlin's Mom and this short film was filmed in July 2007. The full length feature is slated to begin filming in summer 2008 under the masterful hand of TC Christensen, renowned Utah film maker and director of A Pioneer Miracle.
